DOE awards Magna a grant to develop and ‘auto qualify’ advanced motor; 1/2 the cost, 8x power density

Magna has been awarded a grant by the US Department of Energy to develop and ‘auto-qualify’ advanced electric motor technologies for next-generation vehicle propulsion systems. The project objective is to develop an electric motor that is half the cost and eight times the power density, while delivering 125 kW of peak power.

Equipmake and HiETA developing new motor with 20kW/kg power density using additive manufacturing

Hyundai Motor puts XCIENT Fuel Cell electric trucks into commercial fleet operation in California with $3.5M from EPA

Hyundai Motor has secured $3.5 million in 2021 Targeted Airshed Grant (TAG) funding from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to deploy five XCIENT Fuel Cell electric trucks in California. Hyundai Motor will begin operating 30 Class 8 XCIENT Fuel Cell electric trucks in California starting in the second quarter of 2023.

European consortium forms to standardize fuel cell modules for heavy-duty applications: StaSHH
