The government has already mandated ethanol blending in petrol. Currently, the ethanol blend in petrol is around 12%. By substituting Ethanol, the government aims to reduce its import bill and become self-reliant on energy as well as reduce the carbon footprint. The government targets 20% ethanol blending by 2025-26.

Among liquid biofuels, ethanol is the most widely used for blending with petrol, while biodiesel and bio methanol are produced globally at a y lower scale. E10, which is a mixture of 10% ethanol and 90% petrol can be used in existing vehicles, without any need for modification. the GHG emissions are ~50% lower than that for petrol.

Rent a petrol or diesel car for your holidays. In many places, electric cars are cheaper to rent than equivalent petrol cars. And as Europcar says on its website: Save on Petrol! Imagine having to register with a Shell servo before it let you pump petrol. A waste of energy and a waste of time. Charging is Easy!

He has not used his Petrol cars and only uses the Nexon EV. The next time he got adventurous and ventured a further 25 km, ending up with just 8% juice left in the battery. The upper limit for economy driving is 80 kmph, beyond which the juice really starts draining fast. He has been to Mangalore three times.

We did not have the opportunity to assess laden performance or range and a brief 25-minute drive was not long enough to accurately assess how far one of these utes will travel before needing to re-juice – loaded, towing or otherwise. Ford claims a range of 510km, and by all accounts, this is a fairly accurate indication.
