However, if I start from a stoplight in the same way as a gasoline vehicle (rev the engine and slowly let out the clutch), I can start much more quickly than if I just leave the clutch out and floor the accelerator from a stopped motor. I haven't touched my gasoline car in two weeks now.

The RPM stays constant when I "coast" unlike a gasoline engine which tends to slowly drift back to "idle." I think people experience cognitive dissonance when they see a little red Porsche sports car being the slowest car on the road. This makes synchronization of the gears rather difficult. It took me 30 seconds to get up to 60 mph.

Note: the kit instructions mention that the bolts that tie the motor mount in the kit to the front Porsche motor mount are 3 1/2 inches long; however, I think this is a typo because I had to go back and purchase 2 1/2 inch bolts because the 3 1/2 ones were almost exactly one inch too long.

Here's the final undercarriage which is much more sparse without the gasoline engine. I'm hoping things will be much tighter since I replaced many of the ball sockets. Thanks to my neighbor for helping hold the shift lever while I twisted the shift linkage on. The speedo cable and clutch cable are attached and ready to go.

This is the equivalent of the throttle on a gasoline engine. I'll need to drill holes at point A and B. Here's the "potbox" which tells the motor controller just how far I've pressed down the accelerator pedal. I'll be gone for the next two days, but hopefully I can run out to get some rivnuts tomorrow and install this on Sunday.

There's no going back to gasoline now! We also drained the fuel tank by operating the fuel pump with a 12V gelpack battery and took out the fuel tank. I even went so far as to yank out all the fuel lines that go down the center tunnel of the car.

I was also able to turn on the CD player and it started playing the CD I had left in there from when the car had a gasoline (yuck!) After attaching all the wires and chassis ground in the front luggage rack, the green oil light comes on (and the annoying seat-belt buzzer) when I insert the key and turn it to the "on" position.
