As expected, President Obama vetoed S. 1, the Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act, which had been passed by Congress. In his veto message to the Senate, Obama cited procedural issues rather than any potential impacts of the pipeline itself. The Presidential power to veto legislation is one I take seriously.
