Government of Canada awards $18.2M for aluminum autoparts and better Li-ion battery management

The Government of Canada is awarding a total of $18.2 million in a non-repayable contribution will go to GBatteries Energy Canada Inc. The funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada’s SD Tech Fund, which funds clean-technology projects, will allow the company to develop longer lasting batteries for electric cars.

Canada Post adds Navistar’s eStar electric truck to fleet

City of Montreal signs a framework agreement for the purchase of Nissan LEAF EVs for municipal fleet

Government of Ontario, Canada Providing Rebates Up to C$8,500 for Plug-in Hybrid or Battery Electric Vehicles

Ontario, Canada individuals, businesses, and organizations that purchase or lease a new plug-in hybrid electric or battery electric vehicle after 1 July 2010 may be eligible for a rebate between C$5,000 and C$8,500 (US$4,900-8,300). Rebates will only be made available to the first 10,000 applicants who qualify.
