Fisker struggles, as it seeks to ally with a large automaker. The Hummer EV shows that not all electric vehicles are the greenest. With an earnings report and update delivered Thursday, Fisker revealed that it’s in talks with an unnamed “large automaker” for EV platforms, investment, and North American manufacturing.

A123 Systems has entered a battery supply agreement with Fisker Automotive to supply battery systems for the Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The Karma—an extended-range electric vehicle—is scheduled to be launched in late 2010. facility with production slated to commence later this year.

Fisker Automotive, Inc. New York-based Eco-Drive (Capital) Partners LLC, a European-American investment consortium, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, an early investor in Fisker, have together agreed to provide the capital. Early production vehicles of the 2010 Fisker Karma are slated to come off the assembly line late this year.

Rivian on Thursday provided the most significant future-product preview since the debut of its R1 series trucks at the 2018 LA auto show. According to a report out just before the weekend Nissan might build the Fisker Alaska electric pickup, as well as an electric truck with its own Nissan name.
