Austria-based oil and gas company OMV opened the first public hydrogen filling station in Vienna, Austria. OMV has been researching the alternative drive concept for vehicles with hydrogen and fuel cells for several years. The prototype on Shuttleworthstraße provides OMV with an test laboratory for further “green stations”.

The Large Engines Competence Center (LEC) in Graz, Austria, was responsible for the overall coordination of the project, while the startup SES-HyDepot e.U. In this concept, the ship is refueled with methanol at port. The process concept used in the project includes two additional design elements that optimize the system.
