Ten dealers have already received the award, 18 more have applied to be in the program, and more than 200 dealers have independently developed initiatives to reduce their environmental impact.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will recalibrate the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), free of charge. About 95,000 faulty switches were sold to dealers and aftermarket wholesalers. As such, these vehicles fail to conform with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, “Electronic Stability Control Systems.”.

The current 2006 Batteries Directive identifies three categories of batteries. A fourth one for batteries in Electric Vehicles (EVs) is already included in the December 2020 legislative proposal currently being discussed by the European co-legislators. For the moment, these targets exclude batteries that power LMT products until 2030.

The RX 450hL is set to go on sale at dealers in April. Lexus introduced the first luxury hybrid—the 2006 RX 400h—and now holds 40% of the US luxury hybrid market. In the RX 450hL, the Drive Mode Select system adds a fourth mode, EV, that enables the vehicle to drive under electric power at lower speeds for short distances.

Edge is now turning on dealer lots in just 10 days. Sales of the lower volume Ford Focus electric did not suffer as much, but still posted a 5% decline from January-April 2015, from 522 to 494 units. This represents Mustang’s best April sales since 2006. This included record sales of the all-new Edge, up 78%, and Escape up 5%.
