Nissan, New York City launch LEAF electric vehicle taxi pilot

As part of the pilot, Nissan and partners in New York City will also install several CHAdeMO-based DC quick chargers, which will enable drivers to re-charge their electric taxis quickly during their shift. With quick charging, Nissan LEAF can be recharged to about 80% in under 30 minutes.

Kia launching new diesel 48V mild-hybrid powertrain in 2018 on Sportage; more models to come

Kia Motors will introduce its first 48V diesel mild-hybrid powertrain in the second half of 2018. By electronically controlling the MHSG using the inverter, the system switches seamlessly between two modes: “motor” and “generator”. Charge from the 48V battery helps to start the engine in most conditions.
