Maersk purchases 25 Volvo FH Electric trucks for container transports in Germany

Maersk has purchased 25 Volvo FH Electric trucks in Germany. Volvo’s FH Electric offers battery capacities from 180 - 540 kWh (2-6 battery packs), supporting a range of up to 300 km (4x2 tractor trailer). Configured with 2-3 electric motors and the I-Shift gearbox, the FH Electric can deliver up to 330-490 kW continuous power.

Audi introduces Q8 e-tron; improved efficiency and range; base price in Germany €74,400

With their two motors, the base models of the Audi Q8 50 e-tron and the Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron generate 250 kW in boost mode and 664 N·m of torque, and they get a range of up to 491 km (305 miles) (SUV) and up to 505 km (314 miles) (Sportback), in accordance with the WLTP. This lowers consumption and increases range.

Volvo will supply 20 heavy-duty electric trucks to Amazon in Germany

Volvo Trucks will deliver fully electric heavy-duty trucks to Amazon in Germany by year end. Heavy goods vehicles and other commercial vehicles make up around 36% of Germany’s domestic transport emissions, according to Germany’s BMUV. The Volvo FH Electric offers battery capacity of 540 kWh and 490 kW of continuous power.

27 Hyundai XCIENT fuel cell trucks entering fleet service in Germany; funding from BMDV

Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and Swiss company H2 Energy, has also established Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility Germany GmbH (HHMG) to actively expand its entry into the hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle market in Germany. The maximum driving range is 400 km per charge.
