At the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), Mitsubishi Motors North America President and CEO Shinichi Kurihara confirmed that the company is developing the i MiEV for sale in world markets, including the United States. Fleet sales of the electric vehicle begin this July in Japan.

The largest charging gaps are in markets where electric vehicle uptake will grow most rapidly, including in many California cities, Boston, New York, Portland, Denver, and Washington, D.C. Enterprise Rent-A-Car is adding approximately 5,000 additional gas/electric hybrids to its nationwide fleet and designating nearly 80 rental locations across the country as “hybrid branches.” The new hybrids will be available in 24 major markets across the country, including the 10 busiest airports for business travelers in the United States.
