Tesla is set to fix 1.6 million vehicles in China with an Over-the-Air update to remedy vehicles with Autopilot changes and door latches. The Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation said on Friday that it would require 1.61 million Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles that were imported, and Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built domestically, to undergo a software update that would help with driver monitoring while using Autopilot.

Tesla has adjusted ranges for the Model S, Model X, and Model Y as adjustments to the EPA testing strategy for electric vehicles have added more realistic expectations for driving distance. The Model Y Long Range and Performance configurations were reduced from 330 to 310 and 303 to 285, respectively. We reported on those adjustments last night, along with the addition of two new colors for the all-electric crossover: Stealth Grey and Ultra Red.

News broke earlier this week that Stellantis would pull out of auto shows, including the upcoming Chicago Auto Show, for the foreseeable future. Now, to be clear, that decision is only from the corporate side – local dealers could still participate. We reached out to the Chicago Auto Show folks about that, and have not yet heard back. We should also note that Stellantis will evaluate whether to attend or not attend any given show on a case-by-case basis.
