GM applying new intake valve lift control technology in 2.5L Ecotec for 2014 Impala; up to 1 mpg fuel economy boost

GM is applying a new advanced valvetrain technology on the Ecotec 2.5L GM estimates the fuel savings at up to one mile per gallon, according to Mike Anderson, GM global chief engineer for Ecotec engines. GM outlines short-term electrification roadmap for China

In Shanghai, GM Executive Director for Electrification Larry Nitz outlined the company’s short-term electrification roadmap for China. It is expected to achieve fuel economy of 4.7L/100 100 km (50 mpg US). The Malibu XL Hybrid is expected to achieve fuel economy of 4.3L/100 100 km (55 mpg US).
