CPKC orders 3.6MW of Ballard fuel cells for expansion of hydrogen locomotive program

Ballard Power Systems received an order for additional fuel cell engines from Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). These eighteen, 200 kW fuel cell engines (3.6 Over the past two years, Ballard has supplied CPKC with 20 fuel cell engines for use in three different types of locomotives, with combined fuel cell power of 4MW.

Virginia Tech team engineers optimized synthetic enzymatic pathway for high-yield production of H2 directly from biomass

A team of Virginia Tech researchers and colleagues has demonstrated the complete conversion of glucose and xylose from pretreated plant biomass to H 2 and CO 2 based on an in vitro synthetic enzymatic pathway crafted from more than 10 purified enzymes. Pathway depicting the enzymatic conversion of biomass to hydrogen and CO 2.
