There are also, incidentally, income tax credits at the federal and state levels for installation of EV charging equipment. It doesn't cover the whole thing, but you do get a chunk of it back as a tax credit. So that's what it takes.

For electric vehicles, the BBBA includes multiple proposed changes to IRC 30D, more commonly knows as the federal EV tax credit. The Biden administration has announced three major pro-EV initiatives in recent months—a revamping of the federal tax credits , an infrastructure funding package , and new EPA emissions standards. The last company to make those investments that was dragging their feet is Toyota. Congress has, I think, 90 days or 160 days to act.
