After about a year of intensive practical use by ten customers in Germany and Switzerland, eight of the purely battery-powered Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks are now successively going to new customers in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Two vehicles will continue the operational testing with customers in the first test phase.

The direct injection two-stroke engine could be a very promising and interesting option for hydrogen combustion to achieve zero NO x because of its advantages of high-power density and inherent much lower NO x emissions. The Mercedes-Benz eActros heavy-duty electric truck, with a range of up to 200 km, is in intensive use by customers in Germany and Switzerland as part of the eActros “innovation fleet”. eCitaro vehicles were also delivered to Luxembourg and Switzerland. The first hand-off to a customer was in 2018.
