The LOI immediately commits Montauk’s CO 2 from its Texas facilities to EE North America’s Texas Power-to-X project. EE North America intends to construct a Power-to-X facility in Texas that would take the biogenic CO 2 from Montauk’s locations and use it in the production of e-methanol.

Topsoe will deliver technology to HIF Global’s (HIF) planned eFuels facility in Texas. HIF’s facility in Texas will help remove 2 million tonnes of CO2 from the air every year. Our technology will be used to directly convert renewable hydrogen and CO 2 to methanol, which is further converted into plug-and-play gasoline.

Researchers from The University of Texas at Arlington are developing a new process for photoelectrosynthesis of methanol—the conversion of carbon dioxide to methanol using sunlight and hybrid CuO–Cu 2 O semiconductor nanorod arrays. An attractive option would be to convert greenhouse gases to liquid fuel.

The first step of the process involves capturing CO 2 from emissions sources.

Summit Power Group, LLC and Blue Strategies, LLC have signed a 15-year CO 2 offtake agreement with Whiting Petroleum Corporation for some of the CO 2 that will be captured by Summit’s Texas Clean Energy Project ( TCEP ), a coal gasification with carbon capture polygen project being developed in Penwell, Texas, outside Odessa.
