The treasure chest was cleverly disguised in the form of Federal stimulus money from the ARRA, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. That’s why they have authorized over $7 billion bucks in energy efficiency and clean energy programs for the USA. Imagine that.

My Greenius vision sees billions of dollars pumped into California in good paying jobs, in new clean energy power production, in new industries, and in all the tax revenue that comes with that growth. And when it comes to a sense of urgency on climate change, well lets just say I saw no physical sign that Ted is out of his coma yet.

The quickest and most effective way to make that happen today is to green the current grid, house-by-house, by installing rooftop solar energy systems that feed clean, renewable power into the grid the second they’re switched on. Seems like a perfect use for some stimulus money, don’t it?

Price and tax incentives need to be worked out. Robert Hayden, the clean transportation adviser for San Francisco, said the city hopes to have 60 charging stations installed in public garages by year’s end, with a thousand more available across the Bay Area in 2011. Locations must be found for charging stations.
