You could do V2G through the DC port of the vehicle—this is what we are doing with school buses here in California, where our charging station converts AC to DC and then connects to the DC port of the vehicle to provide power. On the DC side, we are rolling out a charging station right now with Rhombus.

In doing so the power electronics convert the direct current (DC) stored in the battery into alternating current (AC) and use this to drive the motor.
