A new report by the European Environment Agency (EEA) finds that, taken together with public transport, walking and cycling for short city journeys provide the greatest benefits for both human health and the environment in urban areas. If it replaces a motorcycle or a car trip, the environment and health effects are positive.

Vehicles that do not meet these standards must pay a charge of £12.50 (US$15.37) per day for cars, motorcycles and vans and £100 (US$122.93) per day for trucks, buses/coaches.
