EPA seeks input on Phase 3 GHG standard rulemaking for heavy-duty engines and vehicles

EPA first adopted GHG requirements for heavy-duty vehicles in 2011. The Phase 1 standards began to apply in Model Year 2014 for heavy-duty vehicles. The Phase 1 standards began to apply in Model Year 2014 for heavy-duty vehicles. The Phase 2 standards began to apply in Model Year 2021.

Geely supporting Danish initiative on e-methanol with vehicle trials in Aalborg

Buick debuts V2X technology in China; first V2X vehicle to roll out by year end

BASF 2016 science competition seeks synthetic lubricant solutions for future high-efficiency vehicles

GM posts 2016 delivery record in China; 3.87M vehicles, more than 1/3 of global sales

General Motors and its joint ventures delivered a record 3,870,587 vehicles in China in 2016, which was an increase of 7.1% For comparison, GM brands reported retail sales in the US of 2,446,582 vehicles for CY 2016. Chevrolet deliveries, after a rebound starting in the third quarter, reached 525,273 units in 2016.

BYD’s “5-4-2” performance standard for New Energy Vehicles; 3 models over 3 years

Using the recent Beijing Auto Show as its stage, BYD introduced its new “5-4-2” New Energy Vehicle performance standard and a series of cars designed to meet it. “5” 5” represents the maximum time in seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds) in future car models. “4” l/100 km, or 118 mpg US.

Québec moves forward with a zero-emission vehicle standard

Earlier this week, the Québec National Assembly unanimously adopted Bill 104, a zero-emission vehicle standard. Automakers that sell or lease a yearly average of more than 4,500 new vehicles (all light models combined) will be subject to the ZEV standard.
