Oberon Fuels starts commercial production of renewable dimethyl ether (rDME)

Oberon Fuels, producer of clean-burning dimethyl ether (DME) transportation fuel, has begun production of the first renewable DME (rDME) in the United States, and the only current commercial production of this in the world. It is the first time this feedstock has been used to make rDME at commercial scale.

Neste Oil building pilot plant to produce waste-based microbial oil for NExBTL renewable diesel fuel; commercial production possible by 2015

Neste Oil will build a pilot plant to produce waste-based microbial oil at its Porvoo refinery. It will be the first pilot plant in Europe designed to produce microbial oil for use in manufacturing renewable fuel from waste-based raw materials. Neste Oil applied for patents covering its microbial oil technology in fall 2010.

Bosch increases commercial vehicle diesel injection pressure to 2,500 bar

As it outlined in 2010, Bosch has increased the maximum injection pressure of its CRSN3-25 injection system for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles to 2,500 bar. Ss one example, Bosch has developed CNG injection systems for commercial vehicles as well as the Denoxtronic and Departronic exhaust gas treatment systems.
