DHL will roll out a new fleet of 63 electric delivery vans that will serve US markets. The fleet of 63 NGEN-1000 electric delivery cargo vans are produced by equipment manufacturer Workhorse Group. 100 miles all-electric range. DHL will roll out the first 30 NGEN-1000 electric delivery cargo vans in the San Francisco Bay Area.

AT&T plans to invest up to $565 million as part of a long-term strategy to deploy more than 15,000 alternative-fuel vehicles over the next 10 years. The new deployments will bring AT&T’s alternative-fuel fleet to more than 15,000 vehicles by 2019.

Frito-Lay is growing its electric truck fleet in California. Once all of the vehicles are deployed by the end of 2012, California will be home to 105 all-electric delivery trucks, the largest deployment in any state. In May of this year, Frito-Lay reached a milestone of one million all-electric miles driven.

Four new corporate partners—Best Buy, Johnson Controls, Pacific Gas and Electric, and Veolia—are joining the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Clean Fleets Partnership, a broad public-private partnership that assists the nation’s largest fleet operators in reducing the amount of gasoline and diesel they use nationwide.

Projected sales of alternative-fuel vehicles in the AEO2013 Reference case are lower than in AEO2012, with the majority of the reduction reflected in sales of flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs), which in 2035 are about 1.3 million, or less than one-half the 2.9 Overall findings.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) has deployed 40 Nissan Altima Hybrids as the first alternative fuel vehicles to be used as marked and unmarked patrol cars in the Police Department’s fleet. The Nissan Altima Hybrids account for 40 of more than 100 total hybrid vehicles the Department is expected to deploy this year.
