Debra and I finally got our first electric car, A 2012 Toyota RAV4 EV, a joint production with Tesla, in January of 2013. It was a great machine, and we loved it, but it was quickly an orphan as Toyota took no responsibility for knowing the car and Tesla ignored it. When we bought our first electric car in January of 2013, the Toyota Rav4 EV with the Tesla battery and powertrain, we followed Toyota’s advice on the right home charger to buy. Leviton’s partnership with Toyota was over and no new number was offered. But the number was no longer in service.

Toyota keeps talking about making a plug-in but don’t hold your breath till they bring it to market. That’s right those are solar panels that all electric Toyota RAV4 is towing. This driver told the press he loves his electric truck. That’s EE Solar’s RAV4 and it has gone over 116,000 miles oil free.

So far GM, Toyota, Nissan, VW, Mitsubishi, have all announced plug in vehicles they will have for sale in 2010. You’ll have free fuel for life for your new clean burning electric car, you’ll end your dependence on gasoline of any kind and you’ll stop pumping more C02 into the atmosphere. That’s 18 months away.

After I listened and agreed to do what they asked of me and put the damn Trader Joe’s bag back on my head, they returned me to Hermosa Beach City Hall where my Tesla-Toyota had fully charged up. It was 2:50 AM and suddenly I was exhausted. I made it back home, calmed a worried wife, and collapsed into bed.
