After seeing the movie Who Killed The Electric Car , I got the nutty idea earlier this year to purchase an all-electric vehicle to commute to work. The motivation was to see if I could get by with as little oil products as possible. A lot has happened over the past few months and I hope to post all that info here for your perusal.

Above is a picture of the main transmission seal that prevents transmission oil from spewing out into the flywheel area. This would most likely explain the transmission oil leaks and the oil and dirt that covered the top of the transmission. It is completely rotten and glued to the metal around it.

I drove over to TAP Plastics and purchased a 12"x48" piece of black ABS plastic (for $4.00) to make my own rain gutter. To hold the bottom edge into place, I'll purchase some short 6mm bolts with large heads to attach the plastic to the original gutter mount holes. The stuff is remarkably moldable with a heat gun.
