This marketing choice by Ford is either a very bad idea (brand dilution) or a genius plan to move the pony car into the modern era. It also toyed with the idea of presenting Prius as a sub-brand at the point it had four different models, but dropped it. It supplements, not replaces, the traditional fossil-fuel car. Lexus did the trick.

Some think Nissan is taking a gamble by rapidly moving into mass marketing of EVs, comparing the company’s approach to Toyota and Honda’s approach of “wait and see how the market materializes for EVs, then jump in.&# I think it’s Toyota and Honda that are doing the gambling. I’m guessing close to 50/50.

When Zeekr 001 was once introduced, we concept it was once a comic story, because it was once a rebadged Lynk&Co 0 idea from any other Geely model. They create PHEVs and in addition ICEs. Alternative examples may well be Brilliance-BMW, Dongfeng-Honda, and FAW-Toyota. million vehicles by way of 2025, and many others.
