Schneider’s first Freightliner eCascadia, manufactured by Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), is set to roll off the assembly line at the Portland, Oregon, DTNA plant. The eCascadia is based on the Detroit ePowertrain, comprising Detroit eAxles—integrating electric motor, transmission and electronics—and batteries.

has introduced the battery-electric 2013 Honda Fit EV ( earlier post ) into the Zipcar Portland fleet, with the first vehicles located at Portland State University (PSU). The Honda Fit EV features a 20 kWh Li-ion battery and a compact 92 kW AC synchronous electric motor that generates 256 N·m (189 lb-ft) of torque.

DTNA is beginning full production of the eM2 in autumn of 2023 at its Portland truck manufacturing plant. The eM2 has a typical range of 180 miles (290 km) for the Class 6 version and 250 miles (400 km) for Class 7, and represents a reliable, efficient and sustainable solution for a battery-electric truck, the company says.

Maven is now offering its first all-electric fleet of cars for use in the gig economy; 20 Chevrolet Bolt EVs are available for freelance drivers in Austin, Texas to earn money on their own schedules. Maven Gig vehicles are available for flat weekly rates that include the car, unlimited miles, insurance (minus deductibles) and maintenance.
