Toyota’s second-generation Mirai, a premium rear-wheel drive fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) with coupe-like design, is offering Toyota Teammate advanced driver assistance technology for model year 2022. Toyota Teammate, available on the 2022 Mirai Limited grade, provides two functions: Advanced Drive and Advanced Park.

The automaker has confirmed that the joint project vehicle with Toyota will also be unveiled at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17th. By comparison, the Nissan LEAF carries a 99 MPGe (combined) EPA rating, while the smaller i-MiEV carries a 112 MPGe (combined) rating. With hydrogen as a fuel option, the car is so expensive and made in such limited numbers it has no MSRP and is not rated on the EPA Green Vehicle Guide for 2007 or 2008. By our count, there’s only been one: the pricey, luxury Lucid Air.

Three FCEVs are currently for sale in California while 25 retail hydrogen refueling stations are open in California with an additional 20 stations already in development. Toyota and Honda have also announced partnerships with private companies for financial support of additional stations in California and the Northeast.
