MIT team exploring using LOHCs directly on-board hydrogen-fueled trucks

Green Car Congress

Green, the Hoyt Hottel Professor in Chemical Engineering, is developing a technology that allows liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) not only to deliver hydrogen to the trucks, but also to store the hydrogen onboard. Their findings were recently published in the ACS journal Energy and Fuels.

MPIE researchers investigate hydrogen embrittlement in aluminum alloys

Green Car Congress

However, aluminum alloys are prone to hydrogen embrittlement causing catastrophic failure during service if not noticed early enough. Compared to hydrogen embrittlement of steel, the effects of hydrogen in aluminum are not well understood. a) Engineering stress–strain curves of uncharged and hydrogen-charged samples.
