If you do your own conversion, tap into all these resources whenever you have an issue. The conversion car came from camp914.com I received much support and encouragement from everyone around me.

This was a big evening of figuring out how to remove the transmission with one person. My only concern is that I'll be taking the flywheel for the EV conversion. I looked at possibilities for removing the front motor mount on the engine that I'll need for the conversion, but it's looking rather nasty.

It seems that Mike is more of a mechanical person than an electronics person. Apparently I'm the only person with an operational AC kit currently, although several other people are hot on the trail to finishing theirs. When I told Mike that I easily pulled > 150 amps during acceleration, he seemed a bit surprised.

The outer edge of the flywheel looks very smooth with little runout, but perhaps the person who machined off the teeth didn't get the outer edge centered well. He's the only shop in town with a small enough shaft to fit the VW/Porsche flywheels). This actually concerns me quite a bit.

One person suggested I send the adapter back to ElectroAuto since the cone was flawed. It worked remarkably well at popping off the adapter from the motor shaft with minimal effort and no possibility of damage to the threads on the inner cone of the adapter.

Given their lack of response and technical support, ElectroAuto should provide a list of online resources that people can go to for help in 914 conversions. Why can't the AC55 motor fit?

I've contacted Randy Pollock, the first person to order a 914 AC kit and he and I are working to figure this out. Since this kit is the 914 AC kit, I have no idea how to install the controller plate. In addition, ElectroAuto hasn't sent any hardware (specifically the rivnuts) so I can install many of these pieces.

Here's the delivery person rolling the crate on a pallet jack to my garage. The crate from Electro Automotive finally showed up. I'm in business again! Here's the crate on the semi-truck. They remembered the liftgate this time (whew!) I'm very thankful that today was sunny.
