New DC-DC here and Tranny Fluid Too

EVParts.com sells it as a DC-DC converter for many of their electric vehicle conversion kits. EV conversion kits have you make a three-prong plug with the hot and neutral tied to the main battery pack to supply this converter. I also received three quarts of Royal Purple synthetic gear oil from ElectroAuto.

Above is a picture of the main transmission seal that prevents transmission oil from spewing out into the flywheel area. This would most likely explain the transmission oil leaks and the oil and dirt that covered the top of the transmission. This is another humbling moment in the project.

Victory! Death to the old Transmission Seal!

Even after lubricating the seal and the surrounding hole with oil, I still had to use the throwout tube and a large hammer just to get it in. With the front seal back in place, I added the rear gaskets, wetted them with transmission oil and installed the intermediate plate with gear shafts. I didn't even get it flush.
