International Nickel Study Group forecasts increasing surplus of nickel in market this year

The International Nickel Study Group (INSG) reported world primary nickel production of 2.610Mt in 2021 and 3.060Mt in 2022. INSG forecasts nickel pig iron (NPI) production in Indonesia to continue to rise, and to decline further in China. INSG forecasts this to reach 3.374Mt in 2023. The INSG forecasts an increase to 3.134Mt in 2023.
