The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently awarded a collaboration between Stanford University, the University of South Florida and Bosch Research and Technology Center North America a $1.2-million, million, three-year grant (award # 1048796 ) to address various topics relevant to automotive waste heat recovery using thermoelectrics.

INEOS Bio announced that its joint-venture project, INEOS New Planet BioEnergy (INPB), has finalized $75 million in private financing utilizing the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan guarantee program for its new Indian River BioEnergy Center located in Florida. million dollar cost matching grant from the State of Florida.

Grant recipients are required to contribute a minimum of 20% of matching funds for research and development projects and 50% of matching funds for demonstration projects. The pilot-scale project use both free (soluble) sugars and biomass (cellulosic) sugars from Ceres’ sweet sorghum hybrids grown in Alabama, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana and Tennessee. The joint evaluation project was funded in part by a US Department of Energy Integrated Biorefinery grant awarded to Amyris.
