One of the earliest doomsayers was Nick Bostrom ; long before GPT-4, he argued that once an AGI far exceeds our capabilities it will likely find ways to escape the digital world and methodically destroy human civilization. On the topic of the potential of GPT-4 and its successors to wreak civilizational havoc, there’s similar disunity.

The group plans to rapidly build a small prototype/demonstration fleet of plug-in hybrids using Ford's Escape Hybrid as a platform. Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At that point, we expect the aftermarket companies prices to have come down sufficiently so that their conversions will be attractive to owners of hundreds of thousands of hybrids already on the road. So far, most start as hybrids.
