Portantino (D-25) and Josh Newman (D-29) introduced Senate Bill 301 , a bill sponsored by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), to create a financial rebate program for converting gas and diesel-powered motor vehicles into zero-emissions-vehicles (ZEVs). ZEV conversions are a rapidly growing market, SEMA said.

The introduction of BrightDrop’s electric vans into the FedEx fleet in Canada is an important step in the company’s goal to transform its entire parcel pickup and delivery (PUD) fleet to all-electric, zero-tailpipe emissions vehicles by 2040. BrightDrop is manufacturing the Zevo 600s at GM’s CAMI Assembly plant in Ontario.
