The growth potential of EVs is high and I would like to be a part of it by contributing my ideas and effort. Electric vehicles are powered by electricity stored in rechargeable batteries or obtained from other sources such as hydrogen fuel cells. Moreover, I’m concerned about the environment and eco-friendly transportation.

We have diversified sources to meet many of our energy needs (for example, coal, nuclear power, hydroelectric and biomass). In some areas of the country, electricity can be purchased off-peak (that is, when most people would recharge their cars, as they presently do their laptops and cell-phones) for the equivalent of 24 cents per gallon.

Automakers agree on common plug to recharge electric vehicles by Darren Murph , posted Apr 19th 2009 at 4:24PM Just hours after General Motors put forth a proposal for a standardized plug for electric vehicles , in flies this. The "normal plug" idea doesnt neccessarily work dude. let me plug this car in right here, oh wait!

3 David Herron said on March 16th, 2009 at 12:31 am Fast recharge will require huge power levels. To recharge 20 kilowatt-hours of capacity in 5 minutes requires 240 kilowatts of electricity. But besides that, the only electronics potentially benefiting from THIS breakthrough are RCs and household rechargeable batteries.

Who, after all, hasn’t tired of having to plug in and unplug their phone and other rechargeable gizmos? Indeed, it’s hard to recharge or power a device when the air gap is just a few centimeters, much less a few meters. Wires have a lot going for them when it comes to moving electric power around, but they have their drawbacks too.

She might be right because the electricity we use today though they are cleaner in that form, nearly 61 % of electricity is generated by burning non-renewable energy sources such as coal or natural gas which emits greenhouse gases.
