Last year people were able to get unleveraged tax equity financing to monetize the production tax credits at yields to the tax investor of 6-7%; this year tax equity investors are seeking yields ranging from 10-15% for leveraged tax equity transactions utilizing the investment tax credit that is now available under the Stimulus Bill.

The first wave of electric car buying is expected to begin around December, when Nissan introduces the Leaf, a five-passenger electric car that will have a range of 100 miles on a fully charged battery and be priced for middle-class families. Price and tax incentives need to be worked out. Locations must be found for charging stations.

Seems like a perfect use for some stimulus money, don’t it? We’ve already got AB 811 in place to give us low interest loans for solar we can pay off as property tax assessments , but very few cities have the money to fund the program. Scott Carlson instructing our class on a job site.
