VIA Motors announced a voucher program for Chicago-area fleet and business owners that will reduce the initial costs of owning a VIA Motors extended range pickup truck, extended range electric passenger van, or extended range electric cargo van. Currently, three vouchers are available when purchasing a new VIA VTRUX model.

Heavy-duty electric truck builder Orange EV announced that fleets in California can purchase a new T-Series pure electric terminal truck for less than the cost of a new Tier 4 diesel truck. Rail Management Services ( RMS ), an intermodal lift-on/lift-off contractor with a hostling fleet of 700+ trucks, has placed a follow-on order for nine additional T-Series battery-electric terminal trucks from Orange EV. Orange EV offers a range of configurations built to meet site-specific requirements while managing cost.

Orange’s T-Series is the only terminal truck solution that qualifies for financial incentives through Drive Clean Chicago (DCC). Through the Drive Clean Chicago program, CMAQ funds are paid directly to Orange EV to reduce customer purchase price. Eligible vehicles must operate 75% of the time in the Chicago 6-county area.).

AT&T has deployed its 4,000 th alternative-fuel vehicle (AFV) in its US corporate fleet. The vehicles are part of AT&T’s planned 10-year initiative to invest up to $565 million to replace approximately 15,000 fleet vehicles with alternative fuel models through 2018. AT&T’s fleet nationwide currently numbers more than 71,500 vehicles.
