Alsym Energy, which was founded in April 2015, has developed a non-flammable, high-performance rechargeable battery chemistry that’s lithium- and cobalt-free.

Hybrid storage systems that combine the superfast discharge of SMES with the higher energy densities of batteries are a promising area of research. The wire had become a “superconductor.”
