Volkswagen AG and its charging and energy brand Elli now operate 400,000 charging points in Europe—the largest charging network there, with more than 800 providers in 27 countries. Over the past 18 months, the network has doubled in size by adding about 200,000 new charging points.

Over the next two years, MAN Truck & Bus , headquartered in Munich, Germany, plans to establish battery repair centers in Italy, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Poland and the UK. Two of the facilities, in Hanover-Laatzen, Germany, and Barcelona, Spain, are already in operation.

Just a few months after the launch, Porsche is expanding its charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles ( earlier post ) by five countries and additional functions. The platform now has more than 49,000 charging points in twelve countries. A new feature offered by the Porsche Charging Service is a rating function.

in Norway, CNBC reports. BYD ATTO 3 (Source: BYD) VW has also been slashing prices on the ID line in France, Belgium, Germany, and Norway, among other countries. Belgium and Sweden will also see revised vehicles and lower prices. Volvo, too, has rerouted its shipping and announced delays at its factory in Ghent, Belgium.

Most of these orders came from countries in the northern part of Europe, including the Netherlands, Germany, Norway and Sweden. In the third quarter of 2023, serial production will also start at Volvo’s largest factory in Ghent, Belgium. The group is also investing in a charging corridor in North America.

MAN, a member of the Volkswagen Group, is now selling a battery-electric van, the MAN eTGE. A 40 kW charging station fills a battery up to 80% in 45 minutes. Approximately nine hours are needed for a full charge with 220V AC. Individual modules of six or twelve cells can be replaced separately.
