DENSO’s Qi-compatible wireless cell phone charger will make its world debut in North America on the 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited as part of a technology package available for both the gasoline and hybrid versions. Qi is a standard for inductive wireless charging developed and maintained by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).

One of the catalytic conversion processes creates a high-octane gasoline blend stock that can be used in today’s standard automobiles requiring no change to existing conventional fuel distribution systems. The company broke ground on its first biofuel production facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, on 26 February 2014.

Winterkorn introduced Future Tracks at the Geneva Show in 2014, saying that over the next few years, the automotive industry will face one of the greatest upheavals since the invention of the automobile.
