Stadler wins contracts for up to 120 battery-powered trains, 25 hydrogen trains

Separately, Italian railway operators Azienda Regionale Sarda Trasporti (ARST) and Ferrovie della Calabria (FdC) awarded Stadler two framework agreements for the supply and maintenance of 10 hydrogen trains for ARST in Sardinia and 15 similar vehicles for FdC in Calabria.

Alstom reports successful 1.5y trial operation of Coradia iLint fuel cell trains, next project phase begins

The Local Transport Authority of Lower Saxony (Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen, LNVG) was the first company to believe in hydrogen, investing in it with the order of 14 Coradia iLint trains and thirty years of maintenance and power supply. Alstom has made hydrogen history here.

Alstom and MOL to explore use of hydrogen technologies for rail transport in Hungary

The Coradia iLint trains have run more than 200,000 km with zero CO 2 emission in passenger service in Germany and Austria and has been successfully tested in the Netherlands. The battery is used to store braking energy, to boost acceleration and for auxiliary supply.

Volta Trucks bounces back from bankruptcy, resumes ‘sharpened’ commercial EV business plan

Volta began series production in Austria ahead of those planned deliveries in Q3 2023, but things started to go south once its battery supplier Proterra filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last summer. Beyond the UK, Volta Trucks says its customer trials will expand in Q2 to customers in Germany, France, Nordics, and Austria.

Swiss Post, Austrian Post to move to fully electric fleets by 2030

Post CH has already electrified its mail delivery fleet consisting of 6,000 electric three-wheeled vehicles and now wants to switch 4,600 delivery vans (up to 3.5t) and 180 service vehicles to EVs by 2030, if market supply and operating and real estate conditions allow.

Bosch to begin developing electrolyzer components; €500M investment by end of decade
