Last week, 37 electric vehicle (EV) driver associations from 26 countries, including Plug In America, joined forces to create the Global EV Drivers’ Alliance, building a worldwide EV community. Like Plug In America, the Alliance is calling for every new light-duty passenger vehicle sold in their countries to have a plug by 2030.

BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) opened a new engine plant with a light metal foundry in Shenyang today. In addition to combustion engines, the new engine plant will also produce high-voltage batteries for future Plug-in Hybrid models. The new BBA plant will supply BMW Brilliance’s Dadong and Tiexi automotive plants.

Further Porsche Charging Lounges are currently planned for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. All electric and plug-in hybrid models from Porsche can be supplied with electricity at chargers manufactured by South Tyrolean electronic specialist Alpitronic. Central billing is handled by Porsche. This ID must be linked to the car.

Efforts to improve the fuel efficiency of new cars sold in the European Union (EU) stalled in 2017 compared to 2016, according to provisional data published today by the European Environment Agency (EEA).
