Porsche and the Frauscher Shipyard in Austria are developing an electric yacht—the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air—that is intended to set standards on the water with its typical Porsche E-Performance. With the 800-volt technology from Porsche, the electric boat can be charged at DC fast-charging stations.

The pedals turn the crank running through a standard brushless DC machine inside: fixed coil copper windings around an iron core are arranged within the cylinder as the generator stator. Magnets in the turning rotor create the current. It should move the bike on one hand, and independently send the "chain feeling" back to the rider.

The motor is a 4 kW brush DC motor. ARAI homologation work is going on - but electric tractor standards are still WIP at ARAI. My friend Mukesh informed me that Escorts has also got Austria based AVL to design and manufacture two electric prototypes for them. The torque delivery is superb, thanks to the DC motor.
