Ford has done it's share of electric cars, including the Ranger EV and Th!nk nk City that were its ZEV mandate cars in the '90s. The surprise appearance at the Detroit Auto Show last month of an electric Focus may be evidence of a new day (again) at Ford. All eyes are fixed on 2011.

I have seen the future and it is a new car electric car from Nissan. Nissan is about to drink GM’s milkshake with a breakthrough, affordable, next generation electric car that will be beat the Chevy Volt to market, cost half as much and work twice as well. Plus it looks ten times cooler.

And for the first time ever it’s an all green Fiesta Weekend in Hermosa! It’s because all the buses and generators involved in the Fiesta will be fueled with clean-burning biodiesel, made from used vegetable oil donated by local restaurants Patrick Molloy’s, Sangria, and Café Boogaloo. Bravo, Mr. Montgomery.

The project, which will put 340 vehicles on the road in trials within the next six to eighteen months, will be the biggest of its kind and is intended to accelerate the availability of low carbon cars to consumers. The majority of the vehicles are electric, with a small number being plug-in gasoline-electric hybrids.
