The new generation of 3-cylinder gasoline engines for the future BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car ( earlier post ) will be produced exclusively at the BMW engine plant at Hams Hall, near Birmingham. Most daily journeys can be taken in zero-emission all-electric mode with an electric range of approximately 20 miles.

With the current EVP40 model, the supplier is offering an electric option that operates on-demand and sets high standards in terms of robustness, temperature resistance and noise. The EVP40 can be used in hybrids and electric vehicles as well as in vehicles with conventional drivelines. This reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
