USC study shows promising potential for giant-kelp-based biofuel with depth-cycling approach

Marine BioEnergy invented the concept of depth-cycling the kelp, and USC Wrigley scientists conducted the biological and oceanographic trial. Beginning in 2019, research divers collected kelp from the wild, affixed it to the kelp elevator and then deployed it off the northwest shore of Catalina Island, near Wrigley’s marine field station.

Cal Energy Commission awards Shell $4M to develop and demonstrate multi-modal hydrogen refueling station; road and rail

The California Energy Commission has approved a 4-million grant to Equilon Enterprises LLC (dba Shell Oil Products US) to develop and demonstrate the first multi-modal hydrogen refueling station in California.
