As of 2026, Audi will only launch all-electric models onto the global market, gradually phasing out production of its combustion models by 2033. Based on this clear decision made as part of its Vorsprung 2030 corporate strategy, Audi is now taking steps to prepare its global facilities for the production of all-electric cars.

Data from Benchmark Mineral Intelligence’s Cathode Forecast shows that China is set to extend its dominance of cathode production by 2030, increasing its share of production from 78% in 2022 to 87% in 2030. China’s output of cathode active materials increased more than four times between 2018 and 2022.

Magna and the BAIC Group have signed a framework agreement governing their electric vehicle manufacturing joint venture ( earlier post ) in Zhenjiang, China, which marks another milestone of their continued cooperation. The first production of electric vehicles, BJEV’s ARCFOX models, is expected for launch in late 2020.
