A study by a team from North Carolina State University, with colleagues from the Urban Air Initiative and 3DATX Corporation, has shown that non-FFVs (flexible-fuel vehicles) can adapt to a mid-level ethanol blend—specifically E27. The study was commissioned by the Urban Air Initiative.

NOVONIX Anode Materials LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NOVONIX Limited, was formed in 2017. The project objective is to construct a new, commercial-scale lithium materials processing plant at Kings Mountain, North Carolina, that uses sustainably extracted spodumene minerals from the site’s lithium mine.

For his project, Deluca cooperated with the North Carolina State University, which has access to a particle accelerator (Advanced Photon Source) where the measurements were conducted. To do so, the team investigated commercially available piezo actuators in action using Raman laser spectroscopy and high-energy x-rays.
