Prior to the implementation of the OGV Regulation, the majority of OGVs going into and out of the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach traveled along the California coastline through the Santa Barbara Channel. SDG&E and Juice Technologies presented a prototype of the Juice Technologies Plug Smart intelligent charging device at the Plug-In 2009 Conference in Long Beach, CA. San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) will test and evaluate a mobile smart charging device for plug-in electric vehicles developed by Juice Technologies LLC.

Jeon Oh, SK Energy’s Leader, Corporate R&D Center/HEV Battery Project, provided an update on the company’s Li-ion automotive battery activities at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference 2009 this week in Long Beach. The PHEV20 pack uses 96 cells and is 65 liters (0.065 cubic meters or 2.3 cubic feet) in volume.
